Saas Platform design

The Prevalent Platform gives its users visibility in third-party risk. My role was to work closely with the Product and Engineering teams on new features and improvements, whilst also working towards a complete redesign.

Here’s a selection that best showcases that work, which includes high-fidelity wireframes and prototyping, data visualisation, an identity for an AI assistant and a new interface for a survey builder that was adapted for three roles.

High-fidelity wireframes and prototyping

It all starts with mapping out the workflow and detailing exactly what we’re asking of the user at every step, before producing detailed wireframes and prototypes that clearly communicate the idea to key stakeholders.

Configurable tables

The Platform is made up of lots of tables which can show lots of information. These configurable tables enable the user to tailor the event fields to show what’s important to them as a summary before they open the event modal to show a more comprehensive view.

Data visualisation

Monitoring within the Platform is a prime opportunity to add some creative, taking the data from various sources and presenting useful graphics to give the user a summary of how their Entity is performing and bringing high priority events/breaches to the forefront.

Designing for ai

Alfred started out as a chatbot, but as AI capabilities increased, he had to transition to an AI assistant and became more visible around the Platform.

I designed a new identity and colourway that could become a key identifier, so that whenever an Alfred Ability is available, or had been used, then users would be able to recognise this immediately.

Survey builder

The survey builder is a key component of the Platform. Surveys are sent out as part of a schedule to multiple recipients, or entities as they’re known. The results of these could generate risks against these entities, which are fed back into the Platform.

Previously, the survey builder was made up of options hidden within tabs in modals and it wasn’t easy to reorder questions or add one in a certain place between two others, for example.

One interface adapted for three roles

I designed a three-panel interface which shows everything in one view with no need for modals or tabs.

All questions are in a searchable and scrollable list on the left, the centre panel is for the question and answer options, and the right for all configurable options. The first of these roles is the administrator whose job is to create the survey.

High-fidelity wireframes and prototypes were produced and recorded, which show the creation of each question type, sub-questions and adding welcome & thank you pages.

Joining the dots for external users

The interface was appropriated for recipients to complete the survey, which is sent out by email with a link to their My Surveys section within the Platform.

A recently released Alfred Ability allows users to upload a PDF or spreadsheet and leverage AI to help complete some, or all, of the questions.

Accept/reject process

Finally, once the survey has been completed and submitted, the administrator receives a notification that it’s ready to be reviewed.

All questions can be either accepted or rejected. If the responses aren’t sufficient, or the correct attachments aren’t included, then they can be rejected with justifications and sent back to the recipient. Risks, tasks, flags and comments can all be created for each question.
